New for '08
The MWPPA has been sitting down and revamping our league. We are dedicated in our league, from the referees to the players we have looked things over for the 08 season. We have taken input from our players, supporters, sponsors, and referees to make sure this is the PREMIERE series. Some of these updates we have announced earlier this season, to help get players ready for the season.
•Score Sheets Signed by winning team Several teams have expressed signing off on the score sheets after game completion. The MWPPA will be asking for team captains/Representatives to sign off on the score sheet after the completion of each game. However if a team fails to sign the score sheet within 5 games it will be marked as not signed and scores written will be posted. There will be no changes made to the score sheet once signed by both teams. This is being done to ensure organized score keepers and to keep people watching from at home the most live scores possible thanks to the APPA. •Lower rate of fire (13.33BPS)(Same as PSP) With the rate of fire changing in the PSP and Millennium series this past season we are following suit. This should not be a problem for most players. However as a reminder just because you set the board at 13.33 BPS does not mean it is going to shoot 13.33 BPS. Hopper speed, air pressure, battery life, and much more affect the rate of fire. Please make sure when chronoing you check your rate of fire! If you have any questions regarding the rate of fire or how to update your board please PM us. •Payments There will be three pay periods for each event. Teams that pay by the first pay period will receive paint for $60 a case. Teams that pay by the second or third pay period will receive paint at $65 a case. Every pay period the entry fee will go up by $50. Ie, Rookie first pay period is $200 second pay period is $250 and third will be $300. This is being done to help the MWPPA ensure we get the freshest paint possible and to have enough to meet the players demand. This is also being done to help teams and players forecast the event, ie amount of teams, players etc... -Each deadline has been moved to Sundays rather then Tuesdays Beginner $150 Rookie $200 Novice $250 Amateur $300 •Rankings Same as last year with the exception of one thing. Once a player has played 5 MWPPA's they will be moved up to the next division. Ie Player A plays 1 Novice event and 4 Rookies, after the completion of the 5 event, he/she will be moved up and be ranked Novice. The system starts tracking from May 1st 2007 and three man events do not count in this equation. This should help continue growth within the MWPPA and paintball at a tournament level. -You will be moved up mid season if you have played five events! •Classifications Will be offering a Beginner, Rookie, Novice, and Amateur division at all events. Will need a minimum of 6 teams in each division to run the division however. Classification details can be found in the new 08 Rule Book. •New format system All rounds of play excluding Semi Finals and Finals will be round robin format. This will still give teams a minimum of 8 games, but will not be the same teams, and it will exclude the possibility of playing 12 games in the best two out of three format. Semi Finals and Finals will be best two out of three format. This is being done to ensure that the true podium placement is found. •Paint Brands We will be offering only Procaps brand paint this season. However as the players have asked we will be offering two grades of paint. We will be offering one brand for $65 a case and another for $55 a case. Obviously the higher cost the better quality the ball. Teams that have their entry fee paid by the first deadline will receive $5 a case off on only the higher grade! •Discount Payment Teams that pay by the first deadline will receive paint at a $5 discount. The MWPPA is having three pay periods this season. Each pay period the entry fee will go up $50. Teams that choose to pay for all three summer events will receive a $100 discount along with a $5 discount on paint at all events. That is our way of saying thanks to the teams choosing our series in 2008! •Sportsmanship Teams will be eligible to receive a sportsmanship award. The MWPPA staff will look at teams over the weekend that are promoting the sport of paintball Conduct and attitude considered as befitting participants in sports, especially fair play, courtesy, striving spirit, and grace in losing. Teams that win this will be required to have at least three players from the roster in attendance (on the roster) for the next event. Prize is Free entry to next event. •ID Cards ID cards will need to be purchased this season. ID Cards will be $15 and all players will need to have one. ID cards are good for the 2008 year. Lost ID cards can be purchased for $12. •Scoring New point values -Flag Hang = 50 Points -Flag Pull = 10 Points -Eliminations = 6 Points -Live Players = 2 Points •New prize details If a division has less then 10 teams in a division prizes will be 100% cash back. The cash will be distributed in the following manner, 50% going toward first place, 30% toward second place and 20% toward third place. 4th Place will not be receiving a trophy and or money this year.
